A teenage girl’s boyfriend has been arrested on murder and rape charges after he was found dead in a house. North Carolina returned home, authorities said. On May 1, police were called to the charlotteNorth Carolina, where they found 19-year-old Isabella Alexandria Stroupe unresponsive, according to an official. WBTV, WCNC and the Charlotte Observer cited an affidavit that revealed that 24-year-old Thomaz Kenon Hamilton, who claimed to be Stroup’s boyfriend, called 911 early that morning and reported that Stroup was not breathing.

According to testimony, Stroup was found dead on the bed where she was allegedly restrained. Hamilton claimed the pair were having sex when he believed she had suffered a heart attack.

The Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office also found Stroup had been stabbed and suffered multiple fractures, according to the affidavit.
According to investigators, Stroup had been tortured for months and was unable to consent to sex. The affidavit also said authorities found several pieces of evidence inside the house, including a bloody knife, a baseball bat, a sword and more.
Hamilton was arrested on Tuesday, May 5, on charges of first-degree murder and rape in connection with the case. It was unclear whether he had entered a plea or hired an attorney.
“Hamilton was transported to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) to be interviewed by homicide detectives. Following the interview, Hamilton was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office,” the release states.
