A shooting was reported Friday at Fountain Plaza, 520 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio. One person was reportedly shot and another was detained.
One person shared a video showing a heavy police presence in the area. “On our first night in Cincinnati, we got some shooting action at Fountain Square,” they wrote.
WLWT’s Sheree Paolello confirmed the shooting. “There just was a fatal shooting in Fountain Square. The interim CPD chief just gave us an update,” she explainadding “One person died. One person was detained.”
On X, several people also spoke about the reported shootings. One man slams Cincinnati’s law and order situation, explain “There was a shooting at Fountain Square at 8:30 pm. Thank you for keeping Cincinnati safe!!” they tagged Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval. other wrote “Imagine there was a shooting in Fountain Square.”
The Cincinnati Police Department has not officially commented on the incident. At this time, there is no word on injuries or details about the shooter.

Some people reacted to reports of the shooting in Fountain Square. one person wrote “This madman, who is not going anywhere, has just come out of the city and the birds of the square are sadly checking on the fountain square of your people,” read Facebook.
Others commented on the article, with many expressing concern. One person couldn’t believe what was happening and claimed to have seen the person who posted about the shooting not long ago. “What happened! I just saw you dancing about 20 minutes ago,” they wrote. Another asked: “What’s going on down there.”
The person who posted the report said “someone was shot,” and in another instance said “someone was shot.” When another person asked “what happened,” the person who shared the post said “someone was shot inside an urban bird.”
