“South Minneapolis – Double shooting. At least one person was shot in the chest. 40xx Nicollet Avenue in MLK Park,” they wrote on the social media platform. “19 women were shot in the neck and transported to Ho Chi Minh City by EMS,” they wrote on the social media platform.

Some also expressed messages of nonviolence. “When will people realize that anger and violence are not the answer?” one wrote. Another advocated for stronger enforcement, commenting: “Folks, this is why we need to advocate for ‘real’ enforcement. This soft approach to crime will only encourage violence in the streets. Once we get tough on crime, and criminalize people accordingly, we can count on these ‘incidents’ to decrease. It’s a shameful path we are on.”

Another shooting was reported in Medina, with the local page noting that authorities found an adult victim shot upon arrival. Shootings were also reported near Bryant Avenue in north Minneapolis. “A lot of shootings happening all over Minnesota today. One shooting in Edina, VA and now two more shootings in the South and it’s only Friday. So cool,” one user wrote on Facebook, referring to the incident.
