Five Indian-origin men have been charged in Canada after police recovered a stolen trailer containing more than $2 million worth of cannabis products in Mississauga.The seizure was made on April 15 while officers with the York Region Auto Cargo Theft Unit were patrolling the area around McLaughlin Road and Highway 401. They located a trailer that had been reported stolen from the Niagara area and was believed to be containing a large amount of marijuana products intended for delivery to a licensed dispensary.Police identified several nearby men in connection with the stolen trailer, CTV News reported. All five people were arrested on the spot. During the search for the suspect, police also recovered two firearms.The accused were identified as Manveer Singh, 21, Sarbjeet Singh, 32, Dilkhab Singh, 21, Karan Kumar, 25, and Jaiskavan Malhi, 23. Police said all were from Brampton except Kumar, who was from Hamilton.The gang currently faces a total of 33 charges, including theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and firearms-related offences.Police said there may be other victims linked to the case and urged anyone with information to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
