New Delhi: Akhilesh Yadav visited a hospital in Lucknow on Tuesday to check on the condition of BJP MP Anupama Jaiswal. Jaiswal was seriously injured when an effigy of the Samajwadi Party leader was burned during a protest in UP’s Bahraich earlier this week.During his visit, Yadav met Jaiswal and her family and wished her a speedy recovery. In a post on X, he said political differences should not get in the way of empathy. “We don’t want a conflagration among the people of the society. We want the society to feel a gentle rain of harmony. Our healthy tradition of active politics teaches us exactly that. That is why we went to meet the BJP MP Ms. Anupama Jaiswal Ji and returned after wishing her a speedy recovery and return. “he said. “Politics has its place, and interpersonal relationships have their place. May goodwill last, and may harmony last!” he added.Jaiswal was injured while trying to set effigies of Yadav and Congress leaders on fire and was admitted to Medanta Hospital Rahul Gandhi During the demonstration in support of the Centre’s ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’. Jaiswal was initially admitted to a local hospital and then shifted to Lucknow for advanced care.Doctors who treated MLA said she suffered severe burns, with nearly 75 per cent of her face affected. She also reportedly suffered injuries to her ears, forehead, eyebrows, nose, lips and eyes, with one eye partially affected. She is currently being treated in intensive care under close supervision, and doctors say the full extent of her injuries may become clearer in the next 48 to 72 hours.Jaiswal’s husband Ashok Jaiswal described the visit as an act of “human sensitivity and democratic propriety”, adding that leaders of all parties had extended their support. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also spoke to her family and issued instructions regarding her treatment, he said.
