The Balochistan Liberation Army on Monday claimed to have carried out 27 operations in multiple areas PakistanBetween April 15 and 25, armed conflicts broke out in Balochistan, Pakistan, during which at least 42 Pakistani military personnel were allegedly killed.The Baloch Post quoted a statement from Pakistan Liberation Army spokesman Jiande Baloch as saying that its fighters carried out improvised explosive device (IED) blasts, ambushes, attacks and drone strikes against Pakistani security forces.During this period, 42 Pakistani military personnel were allegedly killed, several injured and one soldier captured. The BLA also claimed that it seized weapons and briefly occupied multiple posts and facilities belonging to security forces in different areas.The group also claimed three of its fighters were killed. Its militants targeted advancing troops in the Sonda area with remote-controlled improvised explosive devices and then carried out an ambush, allegedly killing several people, the statement said. Subsequent operations in nearby civilian areas resulted in the deaths of 11 people, according to TBP.
The group said Pakistani troops were hit by an improvised explosive device blast and an ambush in the Haran Al Makk area, forcing them to retreat and causing casualties. In Quetta, it claimed that the ‘Hawks’ police unit on Kambrani Road was attacked, leaving two personnel injured. It also said it killed a local alleged pro-government militant often associated with death squads in the Kohlu area and reported further attacks on armed groups and security forces in Besima, resulting in casualties.According to the BLA, clashes in Khanai Shahrag resulted in the capture of a soldier alive. It said it took control of a recruitment post in Jarmagsi, seized weapons and carried out multiple attacks on convoys and checkpoints, causing casualties. The group also confirmed the death of one militant during the clashes.Weeks ago, Baloch militants opened fire on a patrol boat in the Arabian Sea near the Iranian border, killing three Pakistani coast guard personnel in what security officials said was the first such attack on a maritime security vessel. Intelligence and police officials said the ship was on a routine patrol near the Pakistan-Iran coastal border when it was fired upon, killing all three people on board.
