New Delhi: In a shocking incident, the CCTV system at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium was vandalized on the day of the IPL 2026 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans on April 24, Deccan Herald reported.More than 240 cameras were found to be inoperable, disrupting surveillance of key security areas on game day, the report said.Despite the chaos, defending champions RCB managed to chase down Gujarat Titans’ mammoth score of 205/3 in 18.5 overs.Cubbon Park police swung into action and booked two persons: Manjunath (37), a resident of Chitradurga Hiriyur, and Abdul Kalam (19), who hails from Uttar Pradesh.“The incident took place during the match on April 24. Both the accused were working under a sub-vendor of IVS Digital Solutions and were providing digital services during the match,” a senior police officer said.Who files a complaint?According to reports, a police complaint was lodged by Aditya Bhat, an employee of Staqu Technologies Pvt Ltd, a Gurgaon-based company that provides AI-powered surveillance solutions during matches.He alleged that Manjunath and Abdul entered the CCTV control room without valid passes. He also accused them of sabotaging network video recorder (NVR) systems and related fiber optic connections.CCTV footage reportedly showed the pair entering the restricted area.Due to the disruption, officials were unable to provide live surveillance to police personnel deployed at the stadium.What is the cause of the damage?During investigation, the accused reportedly told the police that they had not received the Rs 10 lakh due.
