A suspect has been arrested after shooting two people chicago According to WGN, citing multiple police sources, police were dispatched to a North Side hospital on Saturday morning, prompting a major emergency response.

The incident occurred at Endeavor Health Sweden The hospital is located in the 5100 block of North End california Boulevard in the Lincoln Square area. According to sources at WGN-TV, an inmate was at the hospital when the shooting occurred.
Both injured officers are in critical condition, WGN reported.
The circumstances of the shooting remain unclear, and officials have not yet confirmed whether the shooting suspect is in custody.
A heavy police presence continued to surround the hospital as investigators tried to reconstruct what happened, WGN reported.
City Councilman Andre Vazquez issued a statement
Meanwhile, Councilman Alderman Andre Vasquez shared on Facebook that the second incident occurred near the hospital, calling it an “active situation.”
Vasquez urged people to stay away from the Carmen neighborhood area, saying “there is an active situation at Swedish Hospital and the 2600 block of W Winona. Currently around 11:30 a.m., multiple shootings occurred. Two police officers were shot, one of whom was seriously injured.”
“If you are in the surrounding area, please shelter in place or avoid the area,” Vasquez continued. “Our office will send out a notification with information as soon as possible.”
Chicago hospital on lockdown
Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital reported a shooting at the hospital around 11 a.m. Central Time, which resulted in the campus being placed on lockdown while law enforcement investigated the area, 9News reported.
Hospital representatives said they were not aware of any ongoing threats at the hospital shortly after noon local time and were ensuring that patients and staff at the hospital were safe.
