Here are five things to know about the Paradise Lane shooting in Williamston:
- Martin County Sheriff’s Office – Sheriff Drew Robinson posted on Facebook, “There are several victims.”
- “The suspect has been identified and is currently in custody,” Robinson added.
- Robinson further said there does not appear to be any ongoing threat to the public at this time. “Due to the suspect being detained and the information we have received to date, we do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public,” the post read.
- Everyone is urged to “avoid the Paradise Lane and Fire Station Road areas as there will be a large law enforcement presence there.”
- Deputies and emergency personnel remain on scene, continuing to investigate and secure the area, Channel 2 Now reports. A strong law enforcement presence is expected around Paradise Lane and Fire Station Road as authorities process evidence and additional details.
Paradise Lane is a residential street in Williamston, North Carolina. Williamston is a small town in Martin County, located in the eastern part of the state, approximately 20 miles east of Martin County greenvilleis a rural community of approximately 5,500 residents.
