'This is Indian food': Florida Republican takes aim at Kash Patel, calls FBI director incompetent

Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate James Fishback stirs controversy after mocking FBI director with stand-up joke Kashi Patel And called him incompetent.The video, shared by X commentator Richard Hanania, shows Fishback criticizing Patel’s abilities and comparing him to a failed food delivery investigation. In the brief excerpt, Fishback said: “I don’t believe he’s going to investigate what happened to my DoorDash last night. To be fair, that’s Indian food. “The comments were made at a recent campaign event as part of Fishback’s political speech, which was cheered by the audience. Hanania shared the video, saying Fishback was “basically running for governor and doing stand-up comedy at the same time.”Fishback’s comments about Kash Patel come after The Atlantic reported that he had issues with drinking and missing meetings. Patel has denied the accusations and said he would file a $250 million defamation lawsuit against the magazine. The Atlantic stood by their story and made no apology. The charges also come as the Trump administration has fired several high-profile figures from their roles in the administration, including Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem.James Fishback, born in Davie, Florida, in 1995, is a hedge fund manager and political outsider running for governor. He attended Georgetown University but left before graduating. He then worked at Greenlight Capital from 2021 to 2023 before founding his own firm, Azoria Partners, where he served as CEO and chief investment officer. He is a fourth-generation Floridian who is currently running as a Republican despite not having previously held elected office.
