New Delhi: In the wake of the controversy surrounding his unpublished memoir “Four Stars of Destiny”, former Army Chief General MM Naravane (retd) told a news channel in a separate interview that it was “completely unfair to drag me and the army into politics” using an unpublished book to score points, claiming that he was not abandoned by the government during the height of the real-line standoff with China in 2020.He spoke candidly about Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha and brandished his unpublished memoirs in Parliament to attack the Modi government on the issue.Naravane, who has written a new book, “Curiosity and Secrets: Uncovering Military Myths and Mysteries,” said he had the full support and authorization of the government to fire on Chinese soldiers if the situation required it during the standoff with China on the Line of Actual Control.“The person at the helm is always alone, be it a CEO or a national leader. But that does not mean you are abandoned.
