A nurse from Texas She fell ill just two days into her honeymoon in Japan and is now in hospital battling a life-threatening illness.
Sarah Danh, 27, arrived saint antony She was hospitalized Tuesday night with acute liver failure after a grueling 20-hour flight from the Asian country, People reported.
The expecting nurse and her partner of seven years, Luke Gradl, 28, were married on March 21 in Houston’s Spring Branch neighborhood, an event he called their “dream wedding,” before setting off for Houston. Tokyo April 8th.
“When we arrived at the hotel on the afternoon of April 8, she wasn’t feeling well. So, we decided to take that day off because we had a total of 16 days in Japan, so we could take half a day off,” Gradel told the New York Post.
“Things started to get worse very quickly on April 9, so I took her to the hospital right before midnight and we were admitted to the emergency room and then the next day to the intensive care unit because her health had deteriorated.”

Her symptoms included jaundice, body aches and vomiting.
Gradel noted that his wife showed no signs of illness before traveling abroad.
Japanese doctors diagnosed Danh with acute liver failure. However, Gradel said she also suffered from kidney failure and increased intracranial pressure, describing her struggles as a “unique ordeal.”

Danh works at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and needs a liver transplant, and family friend Danniella Ongmanchi started a GoFundMe campaign that has successfully raised more than $175,000 to assist with medical expenses.
“Leaving home at such a vulnerable time has been extremely difficult for Sarah and her husband, Luke, as they try to cope with uncertainty and worry together,” Ongmanchi said, describing the couple’s pain.
While Dan was hospitalized, the son-in-law of Gradel’s parents participated in a call with Japanese doctors.
Video footage obtained by WOAI shows Dan strapped to a gurney ahead of the challenging journey to Japan, which required him to stop at three gas stations along the way.
In a Facebook update about Danh’s condition, her uncle Khang Le mentioned that the flight came with reasonable risks.
The transplant team from the United States was ready and waiting for the nurses to arrive.
