She was later taken into custody on Monday night. Police did not specify where she was arrested. Lacey Cushman attended a virtual bond hearing with the Bernard County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday afternoon.
However, the judge hearing the case refused to release the 37-year-old man on bail. She faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and traffic signal violation.
According to her Facebook profile, Lacey Cushman was a resident of Orangeburg, where Police Chief Adam Evans was shot.

Springfield Mayor Trent Steele said Chief Adam Evans arrived at the scene ahead of Orangeburg County police deputies and found Cushman at the scene. She attempted to flee the area in the Chevrolet and Evans attempted to chase her.
During the chase, Cushman reportedly fired, and one of the bullets struck Evans in the chest. He is now in stable condition and recovering.
