However, the judge hearing the case refused to release the 37-year-old man on bail. She faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and traffic signal violation.
According to her Facebook profile, Lacey Cushman was a resident of Orangeburg, where Police Chief Adam Evans was shot.

During the chase, Cushman reportedly fired, and one of the bullets struck Evans in the chest. He is now in stable condition and recovering.
