Jasprit Bumrah loses cool during horror run, bowls in frustration – Watch
New Delhi: mumbai indians star pacer Jasprit Bumrah In IPL 2026, he is going through an unusual period of decline. Bumrah, who is known for causing problems for the world’s best batsmen, has fallen apart this season and made little progress. In the five games so far, he has conceded 164 runs without taking a wicket with an economy rate of 8.63.Against Kings XI Punjab, there were expectations to turn things around, but the struggle continued and he took 0/41. The frustration was palpable and in a video that went viral, Bumrah could be seen catching the ball after falling and throwing it in anger.
Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan also analyzed Bumrah’s dip in form on his YouTube channel and pointed out a possible reason. He highlighted the excessive use of slower bowling by the Mumbai Indians spearheads.“The wickets bowled by Jasprit Bumrah are very important. There are no big issues with his form, but his average pace this season is around 130 kmph. He plays slower balls about 44 per cent of the time, which means almost every ball is a slower ball,” Pathan said on his YouTube channel.“Now why is Jasprit Bumrah doing this? I think this needs a deeper look. If he bowls faster balls and reduces the percentage of slower balls, the results will come. It is a very simple solution. Bumrah does not need coaching but the numbers show what is happening,” he added
“A slow ball of 44 per cent and an average velocity of less than 130 kmph means he needs to pick up the pace. Obviously, if you bowl slower, your average velocity will come down. But if you reduce the slow ball percentage to around 35 per cent. If you stay around 30 to 35 per cent and bowl faster, your slow balls will become more effective. If you have seam and swing as well, then you can dismiss the batsmen as well,” Pathan said.Mumbai Indians have now suffered four consecutive defeats this season and are ninth in the points table. They will next face Gujarat Titans on April 20.
