New Delhi: A Border Security Force (BSF) officer was killed in a fire at a fuel depot in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, officials said.The incident took place at the Bankra Border Post (BOP) in Singajganj on the India-Bangladesh border. The outpost is affiliated to the 77th Battalion of the BSF.Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jagi Ram was trapped inside the fuel pile after an explosion triggered a fire, leading to his death. The fuel station is used to provide fuel to BSF vessels patrolling the Sundarbans river area.Officials said there were no other casualties in the incident.Jagi Ram joined the police force in 1990.The incident is being investigated by police and BSF authorities, officials added.
