Eric Swalwell faces sexual assault charges
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Swalwell is accused of sexually assaulting a woman employed by him in 2019 and again in 2024. She said she was too intoxicated during both incidents to give consent and did not report the incidents to law enforcement out of fear that she would not be believed.
On Tuesday, a woman from California claimed that she was raped by Swalwell in 2018 and planned to report the rape to law enforcement.
At a news conference, the woman, Lonna Drewes, claimed the attack happened at a hotel in Southern California. She mentioned she had had a glass of wine that night and suspected Swalwell might have drugged her before the attack.
“I did not consent to any sexual activity,” Drews said.
Swalwell, on the other hand, insists the accusations are false.
