Guwahati: Voter turnout in the Assam assembly elections 2026 climbed further on Sunday to nearly 86 per cent, according to the latest update from the Election Commission. This marked the highest turnout in state history, surpassing all-time highs of 84.7% in 2016 and 82% in 2021.
In an interview with reporters rajasthancentimeter Himanta Biswa Sarma Said: “All Sanatani people voted en masse for confidentiality agreement. This time we will secure 90-100 seats in the state. “The average turnout in the Muslim Belt, which consists of 10 Muslim-majority districts, increased by 4.7 percentage points from 2021 and was the highest in the state.
