New Delhi: DMK leader A Raja has issued a legal notice to a YouTube channel over a controversial audio clip attributed to him. He claimed the recording was faked using artificial intelligence and selectively edited to distort his speech.“This audio clip is being circulated as if I was speaking. It was cut, pasted and created through artificial intelligence to falsely fabricate a story. I have issued a legal notice through my lawyer in this regard,” Raja said.He also criticized AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami for using unverified clips to make defamatory remarks against late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.Raja described Palaniswami’s reliance on the recordings for political gain as “politically uncivilized and dishonest”. He also quoted verses from poet Bharatiyar to emphasize his point.Controversial audio clips that surfaced on social media recently purportedly show Raja making disparaging remarks about the DMK leadership and party affairs. The videos, which were circulated in two parts, allegedly suggested that Stalin was “unfit” for leadership and contained sensitive remarks about the 2G spectrum scam. The audio included allegations that Karunanidhi was tortured or under house arrest in his final days, which Palaniswami cited to demand a new investigation into his death after the former prime minister came to power.Tamil Nadu will go to single-phase polls on April 23 and counting of votes is scheduled for May 4.
