Savannah’s reasons for returning to work
During the conversation, she opened up about her struggles returning to a job known for its upbeat tone.
“It’s hard to imagine doing that because it’s such a joyful and relaxing place and I can’t come back and try to be someone I’m not,” she said.
But she also explained why she felt she had to come back, saying: “But I couldn’t not come back because this is my family. I think it’s part of my purpose now.”

“I want to smile. When I smile, it will be real. My joy will be my protest. My joy will be my answer. Be happy there. If not, I will say so. I am so grateful to have this family. I think this is my family, my greater family, and when times are hard, you want to be with your family. I want to be with my family,” she added.
In the first part of her interview with Kotb, Savannah has given viewers a sense of just how devastating the past few months have been.
“We’re in pain. We’re in pain. It’s unbearable. Thinking about what she’s been through. I wake up in the middle of the night every night, every night,” she said.
“In the dark, I imagine her fear, which is unimaginable, but these thoughts need to be thought about. I won’t hide my face. But she needs to go home now,” she added.
What happened to Nancy Guthrie?
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on January 31 at her home in Tucson, Arizona. The next day, she failed to attend church and her family reported her missing.
In the early morning of February 1, footage from the doorbell camera showed a masked man wearing gloves and carrying a backpack, playing with her camera. Soon after, her pacemaker app stopped working.
The family has offered a $1 million reward for her safe return and the investigation is ongoing, but no suspects have been identified and Nancy remains missing.
