She further praised her family for always supporting her mother. “They allowed her to live in the house where we grew up and she loved it there so much. She further added, “No one took better care of my mom than my sister and brother-in-law, and no one protected my mom more than my brothers. We loved her and she was our shining light. She was our matriarch. She was everything to us.”

Savannah spoke of how her brother, Camron Guthrie, initially speculated in the Kotb interview that Nancy might have been “kidnapped for ransom.”

Savannah told Kotb, “Like, how stupid can I be? I don’t want to believe this, but do you think it’s because of me?” She went on to describe a conversation between her and Camren, “He said, ‘I’m sorry, honey, but, yeah, maybe.'”

She added, “But I know — and I wish I didn’t know, we still don’t know. We don’t know anything, so I don’t know it’s because she’s my mom, and someone thinks, ‘Oh, that lady has money, we can make quick money.'”

It was previously reported that Savannah at one point believed she was the focus and reason for the kidnapping of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

Savannah further said the thought that she was to blame was “overwhelming.”
