New Delhi: chief minister of delhi Rekha Gupta on Monday launched important women-centric initiatives including free LPG cylinder scheme for ration card holders and Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana at Sashakt Nari, Samriddh Delhi Scheme. Emphasizing on education, mobility and family empowerment, she announced that 30,000 girls under the Ladli-Ladli scheme have been provided with funds through DBT.During the event at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, the President also launched a scheme to provide two free LPG cylinders every year for rationing to card-holding households during Holi and Diwali.solve Delhi CM Said: “This is an attempt to touch three aspects of life: education, mobility and family empowerment. I congratulate the daughters of Delhi… When the government conducted a survey, we found that funds for implementation of Ladli-Ladli scheme for 1.75 lakh girls were in the government accounts. So, in the first phase, we found 30,000 girls and provided Rs 90 crore through DBT…”According to officials, the four schemes are ‘Saheli Pink Smart Card’, Free LPG Cylinder Scheme, Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana and ‘Meri Punji Mera Adhikaar’.Under the initiative, the Sahli Pink Smart Card will be launched within the framework of the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) to provide free bus travel to eligible women and transgender residents. The card also allows paid travel on the metro and regional rapid transit systems via a contactless smart card. The cards will be issued at around 50 DM/SDM offices and selected DTC centers with eligibility verified through Aadhaar and linked to the mobile number of the beneficiary.The Chief Minister said this initiative will prove to be a milestone in making public transport more accessible, safe and digital.The scheme will provide two free LPG cylinders during the festive season through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). An amount equivalent to the current price of a bottle will be deposited into the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the household head. Around 1.55 million families holding ration cards will benefit from the scheme.The third initiative is the ‘Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana’ which focuses on the economic empowerment of daughters. Under the scheme, Rs 56,000 is deposited in the name of a girl in installments and, with interest, is expected to exceed Rs 1 lakh by the age of 21.Once the educational criteria are met, the maturity benefit will be transferred directly to the Aadhaar linked bank account. Eligibility includes annual household income of not more than Rs 1.20 lakh, residence in Delhi for the past three years and birth of the girl in Delhi. The benefit is limited to two living girl children per family and extended to those pursuing postgraduate or professional diplomas from recognized institutions.The fourth measure involves payment of outstanding dues under ‘Meri Punji Mera Adhikaar’ ensuring timely and transparent processing of financial rights of citizens.
