New Delhi: One of the three minor sisters appeared to have jumped deliberately while the other two fell while trying to stop her, an eyewitness in the Ghaziabad case said.Arun Kumar, a resident of Bharat City Society, said he noticed something was wrong around 2 a.m. when he saw the girls sitting on the glass balcony in the dark.

‘Sorry Dad’: Suicide notes of three Ghaziabad sisters spark debate on gaming addiction

“This doesn’t look normal,” he said. “It was around 2am and it would be a bit suspicious if there were no lights and even more suspicious if there were people sitting on the balcony.”Moments later, tragedy struck.“I saw all three of them jumping from the front. Before I could understand what was happening or shout out, the whole incident was over,” Kumar said.He added that while one of the sisters seemed intent on jumping, the others appeared to try to pull her back.“They tried to fall off the back multiple times and another person tried to catch them,” he said. “The plan for one of them was this – it seemed to me that one of them planned to jump and the others fell down while trying to save her.”Kumar said he rushed downstairs after the fall and alerted emergency services.“I just went downstairs, called my wife, called the police, called an ambulance and notified everyone immediately.”The deceased were identified as Nishika (16), Prachi (14) and Pakhi (12), residents of Tower No. B-1 under Tila Mod police jurisdiction.Assistant Commissioner of Police Atul Kumar Singh said the police received information around 2:15 am. “On arrival at the scene, it was confirmed that the girls had died as a result of the fall. They were rushed to a hospital in Loni where doctors declared them brought dead,” he said.Singh added that one of the temple rooms had a window that was open. The sisters allegedly used a chair near the window and jumped up one after the other. The girls were reportedly addicted to a Korean mission-based online gaming app and started calling each other by their Korean names, police sources said. Their parents have repeatedly scolded them for excessive gaming and recently banned them from using the app.Investigators say the sisters quietly walked out of their bedroom early Wednesday, walked to a temple room window and allegedly jumped into the darkness below.Parents also found a handwritten note taped to the glass titled “Real Life Story” with a sad emoji on it. It was written in a mix of Hindi and English: “Is diari me jo kuch bhi likha hai wo sab padh lo kyunki ye sab sach hai. Read it now!!! I’m really sorry. Sorry dad.”Police further revealed that all three sisters have not been attending school since the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite being only 16 years old, the eldest child is only enrolled in Class 4, indicating long-term disruption in education.Residents fled after hearing the crash. The body has been sent for post-mortem.Officials said they are analyzing handwritten notes, diary references contained in them, and digital evidence related to the gaming app. As part of the ongoing investigation, all aspects including online activity, family circumstances and mental health are being examined.(Based on input from each agency)
