12L are on Bangladesh’s second supplementary list, but it’s unclear who makes the cut

KOLKATA: West Bengal’s second supplementary voters’ list was released around 11 pm on Friday, but it was not clear how many of the 12 lakh people listed had passed judicial scrutiny.Just like the situation at that time election committee As the first supplementary volumes were released near midnight last Monday, CEO Manoj Agarwal was left with more questions than he could answer. “About 37 lakh out of 60 lakh pending cases have been disposed of so far. After receiving the list from Kolkata HC, the EC will take 4 to 6 hours to process and upload it on our servers,” he said in the afternoon. The list can be accessed through voters.eci.gov.in, ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in and ECINET application. Copies will be displayed at the polling stations and requested from the district election officers, DMs, SDOs and BDOs. Those who are not promoted can appeal to the Appellate Tribunal within 15 days either online or offline. Another list is scheduled to be announced on April 3.EC sources said that 35-40% of people whose documents were examined by judicial officials were deprived of their citizenship.centimeter Mamata BanerjeeThe TMC on Friday moved an appeal before Calcutta High Court CJ Sujoy Paul seeking daily publication of the supplementary list. The party said there were only 749,863 names on the first list, even though judicial officials had dealt with 2.7 million cases at that time. The report said there was no information on the remaining 20-plus names. It also noted that 11 candidates for the ongoing election remain in the dark about their voter status. It pointed to the narrow window for processing exclusion appeals, referring to the deadline of April 7 for “locked” electoral lists in 152 constituencies for the first phase of voting.CJ Paul chaired a meeting on Friday with Chief Secretary Dushyant Nariala, Home Secretary Sanghamitra Ghosh, DGP SN Gupta, Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nand, CEO Agarwal and Special List Observer Subrata Gupta regarding the release of the second supplementary list.
