A woman’s body has been found in an Arizona canal, sparking speculation about a possible connection to the incident Nancy Guthrie Case. The body was discovered around 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, by someone walking along the canal near Indian Bend and Hayden Road in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The Scottsdale Police Department released a statement regarding X as it opened its death investigation.
“On March 28, the body of an adult female was found in a canal near Indian Bend Road and Hayden Road, and a death investigation is ongoing,” the Scottsdale Police Department wrote. “Police and fire personnel were first called to the area around 8 a.m. after someone walking along the canal saw the body in the water.”

The statement added: “Responding police and fire personnel, in coordination with SRP and CAP, recovered the body from the water and began a death investigation. Scottsdale detectives and crime scene experts responded to the scene to collect evidence and thoroughly document the scene. Due to the condition of the body, investigators were initially unable to confirm the presence of traumatic injuries. The investigation is still in its early stages and detectives are working to confirm the identity of the individual and how they entered the canal.”
The conclusion: “The Maricopa County Medical Examiner will ultimately determine the cause of death. Scottsdale Police report number for this case is 2606480.”
Some X users questioned in the comments section of the post whether this was related to the Nancy Guthrie case. The Scottsdale Police Department responded to one of the comments confirming that this was not the case. “This has nothing to do with the Nancy Guthrie case,” it read.

“We’re in pain. It’s unbearable,” Savannah said during the sit-down preview. “I wake up in the middle of the night, every night. In the dark, I imagine her fear. It’s unimaginable, but these thoughts need to be thought about. I won’t hide my face. But she needs to go home now.”
Nancy was last seen just before 10pm on January 31, when she had dinner with her daughter Anne and her son-in-law Tommaso Scioni. The name of the suspect in Nancy’s disappearance has not yet been released.
