‘Win it again’: Kohli’s touching post after India lifts T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli The Indian national cricket team has hailed the Indian national cricket team after their overwhelming victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final, praising the team’s fearless cricketing spirit and resilience throughout the tournament.After the championship match, Kohli took to social media to congratulate the team for their 96-run victory over the New Zealand national cricket team in the pinnacle showdown at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

“Team India achieved a remarkable feat in Ahmedabad. The explosive cricket we played throughout the tournament was absolutely unmatched. The boys showed great character and kept fighting in tough circumstances to become world champions once again. Congratulations to all the players and all members of the management for achieving this feat. Jai Hind,” Kohli wrote.The Indian team performed a batting spectacle, defeating the New Zealand team and successfully defending the T20 World Cup title. The defending champions, after being invited to bat, scored a whopping 255 runs with five batsmen, setting a record for the highest total in a T20 World Cup final.Sanju Samson led with a stunning 89, Abhishek Sharma smashed 52 and Ishan Kishan smashed a quick 54 as India’s top players launched a relentless six-hitting spree. Samson and Abhishek set the tone with a stunning opening partnership of 98 runs, but only in 7.1 overs.India crossed the 200-run mark in just 15 overs, but the New Zealand attack struggled to contain the attack. New Zealand evened the score briefly when James Neesham dismissed Samson, Kishan and captain Suryakumar Yadav in the same over.However, Shivam Dube finished the match strongly with an unbeaten 26 and scored 24 runs in the final to push India’s total to a new record.Chasing 256 runs, New Zealand faltered under scoreboard pressure. Their hopes were quickly dashed after the early wickets of Finn Allen and Glenn Phillips.Jasprit Bumrah led India with a brilliant performance of 4 for 15 while Axar Patel picked up three wickets to dismantle New Zealand’s batting line-up.Despite Tim Seifert’s 26-ball 52, New Zealand were eventually bowled out for 159 in 19 overs as India registered a memorable victory and etched their names in history by becoming the first team to defend their T20 World Cup title.
