Twitch streamer Hassan Pike CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin was reportedly subpoenaed by U.S. federal authorities over her trip to Cuba in March. Investigators are looking into possible sanctions violations related to humanitarian aid deliveries.
“The U.S. government would rather criminalize the provision of aid to our starving countries than punish the Epstein class,” Pike wrote on X in response to Fox News’ reporting on the subpoena.
Pique, one of the biggest political streamers on Twitch, visited Cuba earlier this year as part of the Nuestração Convoy, a humanitarian operation that brought medical supplies and other help to the country.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued two administrative subpoenas.
The administrative subpoenas, known as “requests for information,” or RFIs, seek financial, logistical and communications information from Peake and Benjamin’s highly publicized trip to Cuba in March with the “Our America Convoy” delegation, Fox News reported.
Officials are also investigating whether participants stayed at hotels on the State Department’s Cuba restricted list.
“We stayed at the right hotel, by the way,” Pike said in response to a comment on X’s post about hotel issues. “The government was deceived by a viral Twitter post. It’s driving me crazy.”
Tourist travel remains prohibited, and U.S. regulations may prohibit direct financial transactions with organizations on Cuba’s restricted list. However, OFAC regulations permit certain travel-related transactions involving Cuba under certain categories.

Pike was politically outspoken and fought back against X’s subpoena. He tagged Fox’s original reporting and wrote, “The U.S. government would rather try to criminalize the delivery of aid to our hungry nation than punish the Epstein class.”
Benjamin didn’t remain silent, writing: “Is it now a crime to send medical supplies to a pediatric hospital in Cuba? Is it also a crime to save a baby’s life? This government is ridiculous.”
