He added, “People are on the run, crime is increasing, and taxes are the highest in the nation and the world. Steve can turn things around before it’s too late, and as president, I will help him do that! With help from the federal government and a great governor like Steve Hilton, California can be better than ever! Steve Hilton has my complete and total endorsement. He will be a great governor and importantly, he will never let you down!!!”
Hilton, an author, entrepreneur and Fox News contributor, is running for California governor “to address the housing crisis, high taxes and the “staggering incompetence of Democratic one-party rule,” according to Commonwealth Club World Affairs. He is not embracing the Republican label and is calling his campaign nonpartisan, according to the site.
Hilton was born in England to Hungarian parents who fled communism. He worked in politics, advertising and business before becoming former UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s head of strategy. In the United States, he is best known for hosting the Fox News Channel program “The Next Revolution.”
On Gov. Steve Hilton’s website, he said: “I love California dearly. I moved to the Bay Area more than a decade ago. I raised my family here, taught at Stanford University, started a business, wrote a book, led a nonprofit called Golden Together, hosted a television show… and lived the California dream. In the deepest sense, this is my home. I am a proud American and a very proud Californian.”
“I think the most important thing if you really want change to happen is to have the right ideas and the courage, conviction and consistency to follow through. Today in California we have bad ideas but poor execution. That has to change,” he added.
“In everything I do and everything I stand for, there is one clear, consistent idea: Put power in people’s hands,” Hilton asserted.
