a couple from minnesota — including a father who considers himself “the voice of a generation” — and their daughter, who were indicted on federal charges for allegedly assaulting a journalist turning point america in oppositionice protests earlier this month.
Christopher Ostroushko, 51, Deyanna Ostroushko, 46, and their 20-year-old daughter Paige Ostroushko were indicted in the attack on TPUSA reporter Savanah Hernandez outside the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building in Fort Snelling, the U.S. Department of Justice said Wednesday.

Disturbing footage from an anti-ICE rally outside the Whipple Building on April 11 shows Christopher Ostroushko suddenly pushing 29-year-old Hernandez to the ground with both hands while yelling, “Don’t touch my daughter!”
Before the angry father launched his attack, a female protester was observed punching Hernandez in the face, causing her to fall backwards against a fence before being tackled to the ground by another woman, as seen in the video.
Hernandez earlier told The Washington Post that her role was to document the protests — which she did without incident until she was recognized by a “thug” of “left-wingers” because of her ties to the group co-founded by the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“Hernandez was allegedly surrounded, physically assaulted and pushed to the ground simply because the defendants identified her as a conservative journalist,” Acting Attorney General Todd Branch said in a statement, according to the New York Post.
“This was not a ‘peaceful protest.’ “These reprehensible actions alleged in the indictment will not be tolerated in America, and the Department of Justice will always punish unhinged political violence,” he added.
As described in the federal grand jury indictment, Christopher Ostroushko and Paige Ostroushko face federal charges of interfering with a federally protected activity and assault, while Deyanna Ostroushko is charged only with assault.
The attack resulted in neck pain, a sprained knee and multiple bruises, according to the conservative journalist.
Additionally, the Hennepin County Prosecutor’s Office revealed Wednesday that Christopher Ostrushko was charged with fifth-degree assault for his actions outside the Whipple Building.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the indictment against X, saying the bureau “immediately participated in and led the investigation into the video of the Hernandez attack.”
“Most importantly, we are grateful that @Savsays is OK,” Patel said. “Let this be a message to others who may try something similar – the FBI will find you.”
Paige Ostrushko claimed the altercation started when Hernandez mocked sexual assaults that occur in ICE detention facilities, the Star Tribune reported.
“This resulted in emotional distress and confrontation,” Ostruszko said in a GoFundMe statement. “The situation escalated and at one point, I experienced physical contact and believed I was assaulted, including being hit several times. In response, I took what I believed to be self-defense at the time.”
All three family members were issued summonses to charge and are due in court on May 12, the Star Tribune reported.
