Michael Puckett was the subject of a massive multi-agency manhunt that spanned the Virginia and North Carolina border and lasted more than two days after Deputy Logan Utt was shot and killed, WFMY News reports.
“Michael Puckett has been arrested in Surry County, North Carolina. Thank you to all neighboring law enforcement agencies and the entire community for their assistance in the arrest,” the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office shared on Facebook.

Ute is an Army veteran and former Mount Airy firefighter. He will join the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in 2023. Ute, a husband and father, has said it was his lifelong dream to become a deputy sheriff.
