A 17-year-old high school student from the West Hartford died after being hit by a stray bullet during a shooting in downtown Hartford. Camden Siegal died from his injuries on Tuesday, February 24, two days after the incident.

Who is Camden Siegel?

Camden Siegal is a senior at Hall High School and a 2026 graduate. He is the son of Elizabeth Fisher and the late Erik Siegal, who died unexpectedly in August 2021. He has a special bond with his younger brother, Hayden.

“It is with deep sadness that I share the news that a Hall student was tragically injured in a shooting in Hartford early Sunday morning. According to his obituary, Camden was an honor roll student who excelled in school and athletics. He was a CCC All-Academic selection as a junior and senior in football and a junior in lacrosse. “He loved being on the field, whether playing football or lacrosse. For him, it was about teamwork, camaraderie and love for the game,” the obituary read.

He made a huge impact on his friends and family through his daily kindness, steady support and genuine care.”

“While Camden’s time with us was all too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will forever remain in our hearts. He was the pride, joy and gift to his mother and the entire community. Camden will always be loved and missed,” they added.

Camden Siegel dies: It’s all about Hartford

According to the Hartford Police Department, the shooting occurred around 1:49 a.m. on February 22 near Ann Uccello Street outside Peoples Bank Stadium.

When officers arrived, the 17-year-old man was found unresponsive and taken to an area hospital in critical condition, police said. On Tuesday, police confirmed that Siegel died from his injuries and the case is currently under investigation. kill. He was reportedly not the intended target.

Camden was waiting for an Uber to pick him up from downtown Hartford when he got caught in the crossfire of a nearby shooting. A second victim, a man in his 20s, was also shot and taken to hospital in critical but stable condition. No updated information on that person has been provided.

Hartford police said the investigation remains active and no arrests have been made.
