According to “People” magazine, 31-year-old Duggar is currently being held in the Washington County Jail in Arkansas. He was booked into the jail at 3:59 pm local time on March 18. He remains in custody awaiting extradition to Bay County, Florida, where he will face charges, Newsweek reported.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced that Dugger was charged with indecent assault on a victim under the age of 12 and related conduct, People reported.
The case stems from an alleged incident in 2020 involving a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in Panama City Beach. Authorities further allege that Duggar admitted to the act after a confrontation with the victim’s father and detectives.
Dagg was arrested out of state after coordination between Arkansas and Florida law enforcement agencies, Newsweek reported.
Although Dugar’s jail record has been confirmed, his jail records are not widely visible in public searches, leading to confusion.
While officials have not commented directly on the issue, the limited availability may be due to the interstate nature of the case, Newsweek reported. Because Dugger is being held in Arkansas but will be tried in Florida, records may be updated individually in each jurisdiction or delayed in public databases.
Even if a detention is confirmed, administrative lags in releasing prisoner details online may contribute to the gap.
Newsweek reports that Duggar is expected to be extradited to Bay County, Florida, where he will appear before a judge.
However, the official timetable for the transfer has not yet been announced. The investigation is ongoing.
