What IPL teams can and cannot do in 2026 edition: BCCI’s new guidelines

The BCCI has banned IPL teams from holding practice matches on IPL 2026 match days, according to a note sent to team managers. Teams will be assigned two nets in the practice area and a side gate in the main concourse to allow for range shots during practice. Assigned seats on the bench will be marked with towels and water bottles.– Players must wear orange and purple hats; if not, they should wear them for at least the first two games so broadcasters can capture them.– Sleeveless jerseys and flip-flops are prohibited during post-match speeches. A warning will be given for the first violation; financial penalties will be imposed for subsequent violations.
