Airport authorities said the arrest was not related to broader law enforcement activity. A spokesman said there was “no reason to suspect wider enforcement action at the airport” and said the incident was isolated.

The clarification comes amid reports that some airports have deployed ICE to assist with staffing shortages affecting safe operations. Officials said the San Francisco incident was unrelated to those measures.

Police were present and no disturbances were reported.

San Francisco police were on scene but did not intervene, and agents took the woman into custody before leaving.

The identities of the woman and child seen in the video have not been released.
