One person wrote on Facebook: “Does anyone know what happened at Roosevelt Field Mall? I heard people were trampled and ran out and there was a large police presence.”

Another added: “About 10 minutes ago we were heading Lego Shots rang out in a store at Roosevelt Field Mall and I grabbed my son as crowds of people ran from where the shooting happened. Nowhere in New York was safe anymore. “

Another person on X said “Heard about the shooting at Roosevelt Field Mall? Total chaos!!!”.

However, there were claims that a fight broke out and people mistook the thrown chairs for gunshots. “Fierce fighting broke out at Roosevelt Field Mall, with people mistaking thrown chairs for gunshots. Mass panic and police swarming with rifles,” they wrote on X.

The authorities have not officially commented on the matter. There was no information on injuries at this time.

Another person appeared to confirm that a fight broke out at the mall. “There just was a big scuffle at Roosevelt Field Mall, wtf lmaoo,” they wrote on X.

Some people also reacted to reports of the incident at the mall. “Do you know what that is?” one person asked. Another commented: “Glad you’re safe.” While others also wished for safety, one expressed hope that no one was hurt.
