President of the United States Donald Trump Thursday suggested the United States might turn its attention to Cuba after a war with Iran.Speaking at a reception at the White House, Trump said his administration wanted to first “resolve” and “end” the situation with Iran, but said the Cuba issue could be resolved later.“We want to fix this and get this done first, but it’s just a matter of time and a lot of incredible people are going to return to Cuba,” he said.Addressing U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Miami-born son of Cuban immigrants, Trump added: “You’ve done a great job in Cuba.”“It’s amazing what’s happening in Cuba and we think we want to get this done first, but it’s just a matter of time and a lot of incredible people are going to return to Cuba,” he said. “Hopefully not to stay.”Washington has imposed an energy blockade on the communist-ruled island, drastically reducing its fuel supplies. The move comes after the United States captured Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela, Cuba’s main oil supplier. The island has not imported any oil since January 9, forcing airlines to cut flights and exacerbating the country’s long-running economic crisis, AFP reported.Trump’s comments have raised concerns among many in Cuba that the island could be next on Washington’s list of foreign interventions, especially after the United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran that killed the country’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei. Both Trump and Rubio have previously expressed support for regime change in Havana.
