This is the day after the Secretary of State takes office Marco Rubio accused of lying The congressional panel made the suggestion when he was asked about Trump falling asleep during meetings.

Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., asked Rubio about Trump’s sleep when he appeared before the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday. The secretary of state responded that he had never seen Trump fall asleep in any meeting and claimed that the president gets very little sleep. Rubio went on to recount an incident in which Trump would sometimes call him at odd hours of the night and said Rubio himself needed six hours of sleep.

Trump’s latest public absence raises concerns

The 79-year-old Trump has disappeared from public view for nearly a week, sparking widespread concerns that Trump was allegedly asleep. Trump’s last news conference was in late May, and after about a week without seeing the president, speculation about his health began to spread.

Notably, Trump had a heated exchange with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during an interview with reporters yesterday, in which those remarks were retracted. When the latter asked the President of the United States about the retribution fund, Trump went on to say that he thought the fund was a good idea. He then brought up Collins’ past and said she was “a conservative from Alabama,” to which the reporter immediately replied that she was still from Alabama. Trump again asked Collins to smile, a comment that has drawn backlash from him in the past.

However, the appearance dispelled any doubts about Trump’s health. Despite past speculation and even medical insights into the possible medical condition, the White House and Trump maintain that the president was given a clean bill of health during a check-up at Walter Reed Hospital.
