US Visa Laws: State Department issues major clarification amid concerns raised by Indians, ‘No…’

Andrew Piggott said during a roundtable discussion hosted by the Center for Foreign Press in New York that the United States is enforcing global visa regulations with transparency and consistent standards.

Replying to PTI’s query, Piggott pointed out that the earlier US government enforced visa laws inconsistently. “That is no longer the case. We have been fully implementing the visa law. I think this will provide a clear message. There is no visa law for India now.”

Referring to the movement of people, Piggott said, “We will provide the means needed to facilitate and allow people in to facilitate investment, train workers and ensure visa policies are in place to achieve this.”
