UAE travel alert: Etihad Airways announces flight schedule for March 10-12, check destinations | World News

The Iran-US-Israel war has left thousands of passengers stranded across the UAE due to airspace closures, flight cancellations and air diversions. While UAE authorities have been praised for providing assistance to tourists, providing hotel and food vouchers and transport services, many are still scrambling to catch the next flight home. While geopolitical tensions continue to escalate, a limited number of flights have resumed to help safely transport stranded passengers home. Many airlines in the Gulf region and those connected to the region through their air networks have started to gradually arrange flights. Etihad Airways, one of the Gulf region’s leading airlines, has released its latest limited flight schedule to key destinations from Abu Dhabi. The airline has listed flights for March 10, 11 and 12 so that passengers with existing bookings can be accommodated as quickly as possible.

Etihad Airways Airlines issue passenger guide

The airline advises travelers not to travel to the airport unless they have a confirmed booking or Etihad has contacted them directly. All flights will only operate after procedural safety and security checks. While passengers with existing bookings will be given priority, other passengers can purchase tickets on etihad.com, the airline’s website said. Here are some things to note:

From March 6 to 19, the airline will arrange flights to Ahmedabad, Amsterdam, Athens, Bangkok, Beijing, Bangalore, Boston, Cairo, Delhi, Dubai, Jeddah, Karachi, London (Heathrow), Manila, Melbourne, Mumbai, New York (JFK), Paris, Riyadh, Sydney, Tokyo and other destinations. Additionally, the airline added that all services are subject to operational approval and may be adjusted based on airspace conditions. Passengers are advised to check the latest timetable online for specific operating dates.

Gulf airlines resume operations

Gulf airlines have briefly and gradually resumed operations to major destinations. Along with Etihad, Qatar Airways has also been helping travelers return home. On March 10, the Indian Embassy in Qatar revealed that 1,000 Indians stranded in Doha had left on Qatar Airways in the past three days to help ensure the safe return of those stranded in the country for transit or short-term visits.

Air India begins operations

Major Indian airlines such as Air India, Indian Express, IndiGo, SpiceJet and Alkasa Air have resumed operations to the Middle East. As of March 9, these airlines have planned 50 inbound flights from the region and are continuing to monitor the situation in West Asia. Air India operated 32 special flights from India to the UAE on March 9, in addition to 10 flights from Jeddah and Muscat. In addition, Air India Express operates 14 other flights to and from Muscat. IndiGo resumed operations on a limited basis, including 17 flights to and from Middle Eastern cities. The airline is also offering free cancellation waivers to customers in the Middle East and Istanbul, Turkey.
