The document was filed by defense attorneys on Friday. Prosecutors plan to call Robinson’s parents, as well as his roommates and romantic partners, the statement said. Lance Twiggstestified at a preliminary hearing, Fox News reported.

Robinson’s defense team asked the judge to delay the preliminary hearing for at least six months. The current booking date is May 18th.

During a March 12 meeting, Robinson’s defense team said defense attorneys had received more than 600,000 documents from prosecutors, which reportedly took time to review. This discovery is also incomplete.

“Discovery in this case was incomplete, large, and complex,” the defense team wrote.

One of the defense experts, a forensic biologist, said she would need months to review the evidence.

Documents filed by Robinson’s defense attorneys did not ask for a postponement of the next court hearing on April 17. The hearing will focus on public and media participation in future court hearings. They include a defense motion to ban the use of cameras in the courtroom.

Robinson’s defense team plans to present evidence they say contains “harmful and biased media coverage of this case to date.”

“While there simply is not enough time to present everything mentioned in the ‘Motion to Exclude Cameras,’ the compilation is expected to highlight the most egregious and concerning media coverage affecting Mr. Robinson’s case,” his attorneys wrote.

Tyler Robinson’s defense team cites conflict of interest

Judge Tony Graff denied a motion by Robinson’s attorneys to exclude prosecutors from the case during a Feb. 24 hearing. Robinson’s defense team claimed a conflict of interest because the prosecutor’s daughter attended the Utah event where Kirk was murdered.

Graf said he was “not convinced” by the defense team’s argument that prosecutors were “biased.”

“Because the defendant has not established a factual basis for a finding of a conflict of interest or objective misconduct that would give rise to constitutional concerns, his motion is denied,” Graf said. “In sum, the defendant has not demonstrated that Mr. Gray’s devotion to his daughter has or will materially limit his ability to represent the state at a substantial risk. Nor has the defendant demonstrated that his due process rights were compromised as a result of the Utah State Attorney’s Office continuing to prosecute this case.”

Kirk, 31, was allegedly shot and killed by Robinson on Sept. 10 while attending a campus event in Utah. According to a statement from Utah Valley University (UVU), the shooting occurred around 12:20 pm local time during a student Q&A event at UVU in Orem.

Robinson faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder, for Kirk’s killing. The charges are eligible for the death penalty.
