The White House confirmed the visit in a statement, saying it will include “routine annual dental and medical evaluations by the President as part of his regular preventive health care.” The visit will also include interactions with military personnel stationed at the facility.

This is Trump’s fourth medical visit since returning to office in January 2025. He will turn 80 next month, making him the oldest person ever elected president of the United States. His health has been under scrutiny in recent months, in part because of publicly visible bruises on his hands and swelling in his legs. In July 2025, the White House confirmed trump card was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which the veins in the legs have trouble pushing blood back to the heart properly.

“Just finished my six month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out perfect. Thanks to the great doctors and staff! Back to the White House. President DJT,” Trump wrote on Truth Social after today’s test.

So, when will the results be available?

There is no legal requirement for the President of the United States to disclose the details of his medical examination. But depending on past experience, results could be released within a day or two, or they could take weeks, in the form of an update from White House physician Sean P. Barbabella.

Take past examinations as an example: Trump’s most recent physical examination was conducted on April 12, 2025, and the results were announced one day later, on April 13, 2025. If the White House chooses to announce the same model this time, the results of today’s visit are expected to be announced on May 27 or 28, 2026.

How much can the public actually learn?

Jacob Appel, a doctor and professor at Mount Sinai, told The Associated Press that there is “absolutely no requirement” for the president to have an annual wellness exam or share the results publicly.

According to Newsweek, Trump often shares only limited details about his health. His 2018 physical gave one of the most detailed reports of his tenure.

But subsequent reports, including one released in October 2025, shared few specific details or numbers. White House physician Sean Barbera said Trump underwent “advanced imaging, laboratory testing and preventive health evaluations,” but the summary did not explain the results in detail.
