The US president posted an image of a letter from US evangelist Franklin Graham last year congratulating him on a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and later saying he was indeed destined for heaven in the afterlife.

trump card has previously expressed thoughts about his potential fate in the afterlife, mentioning to reporters on Air Force One in October 2025 whether he would eventually reach heaven. “I don’t think anything is going to get me to heaven. I think I probably won’t go to heaven.”

“I’m not sure I’ll make it to heaven, but I’ve made a lot of people’s lives better,” he added.

Here’s Franklin Graham’s response to Trump

In a personal letter, Graham assured the commander-in-chief that his “soul is safe” and that if he accepts Jesus Christ as God, he is “destined for heaven,” as noted in a note sent last year.

“It is an important matter to be certain that your soul is safe and will spend eternity in the presence of God,” Graham said in a letter dated Oct. 15, 2025, which Trump shared on “Truth Social” on Sunday. “The only thing that can save us from hell is Jesus Christ“.

“The only way to heaven is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ,” he continued. “Jesus came to earth, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and God raised Him up on the third day. If you accept this by faith and invite Him into your heart, I promise you, you are destined for heaven.”

Billy Graham Highlights Billy Graham Ceasefire Agreement

Billy Graham, the son of the late evangelical icon, highlighted the then-Trump team-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the release of the last Israeli hostages, calling them “incredible achievements.”

After he was nearly killed in a 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a bullet narrowly missed him by a quarter of an inch, Trump began to reflect increasingly on God and the afterlife.

For example, in August 2025, he revealed his efforts to enter heaven. Additionally, Trump pondered the possibility of his parents being in heaven at the rally.
