According to visuals from the early March event shared on social media, the skin behind Trump’s right ear appeared to be crusted and peeling as he walked through the line of honorees facing the camera. Photos taken in a makeshift situation room at Mar-a-Lago when the United States attacked Iran also showed discoloration in the same area of the neck. This situation is also said to be evident in the president’s State of the Union address.
CNN White House producer Adam Cancyrn said on X that the cause of the discoloration was “preventative skin treatment.”
“President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck as a preventive skin treatment. The President is using this treatment for a week and expects redness to persist for several weeks,” he wrote, sharing a statement from the president’s doctor.
