Is the golden pager a gift or a threat? social media speculation

Some sources online claim that the golden pager given to Trump was actually a threat.

“The Golden Pages are Netanyahu’s threat to President Trump. It’s clear,” one person Replied to Carlson’s post.

Another added, “Remember the gold pager? A rather tasteless gift from a ‘good friend’ and ‘ally’. Open your eyes. Netanyahu’s threat to Trump.”

Another one explain “I thought the golden pager that Netanyahu gave to President Trump was a veiled threat. I didn’t think so at the time, but after Rubio’s initial comments about supporting Israel in its fight against Iran, and all the comments coming out of Israel, it seems like it was more than just a gift.”

Carlson’s own news network questioned whether this posed a threat and invited podcaster Bret Weinstein to weigh in.

He said in a video shared on

However, despite these claims, there is no indication that golden pagers were or are a threat. It was a gift given to Trump when world leaders met for the first time in his second term.

The pager was a reference to Israel’s Operation Reaper, a series of pager bombings targeting Hezbollah networks during the ongoing conflict with Hamas. The surgery will be performed in September 2024.

Trump defended Operation Epic Fury on a variety of grounds. He claimed it was a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s “imminent threat of attacks” aimed at ensuring Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon.
