The attack resulted in Trey being hospitalized, according to the Newport Police Department.
Trey has now started a GoFundMe. He confirmed it in the comments section Facebook post“, “I was shot 15 times, but I’m actually doing really well and on a long road to recovery, thank you all for your prayers and support.”
Police confirmed that Alford was charged with assisting attempted murderMoses is wanted for conspiracy to commit attempted murder and Coombs is wanted for attempted murder. All three should be considered armed and dangerous.
According to Fox 19, police said the shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. on May 9.
“Standing right over him, close range. His intent was to kill him. ‘Why?’ I don’t know. I don’t think anyone knows why,” said Trey’s uncle, Harley Island.
The victim’s family said Trey’s girlfriend walked into Circle K to buy snacks after a night out when a woman Trey knew asked him to get in the car. Trying to slow down the car for this woman on Mother’s Day sparked an argument with someone in the back seat.
Trey then walked to a nearby bar before meeting his girlfriend. When the car stopped, two men allegedly opened fire and Trey’s girlfriend rushed to help.
“When I heard 15 gunshots, I thought – ‘Oh my God, my little nephew is not going to survive,'” said Heidi Isles, Trey’s aunt.
When police arrived, they found Trey suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
“He was shot four or five times in one ankle, two or three times in the other ankle, and he was shot in the arm and throat,” Heidi Ayers said.

Trey was rushed to UC Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
“I thought we were going to plan a funeral – because who would survive?” Harry said.
The Trey family initiated a to fund me Raise funds to help cover medical bills and treatment costs, hospitalization and recovery costs, transportation and daily living expenses, and more.
“We are asking for your prayers and support for our beloved son who was shot 15 times while parked at Circle K with his girlfriend. In a moment that forever changed the lives of many, Trey was the victim of a senseless act of violence that no family was prepared for,” the page reads.
“By the grace of God, Trey survived. His girlfriend stayed by his side throughout the horrific aftermath and helped save his life. We are deeply grateful to her, without whom he may not have survived, to the medical team who fought for him, and to everyone who gave him love and support during this devastating time,” the statement added.
The page emphasizes that Trey now “faces a long journey of physical, mental and emotional recovery.”
