What did the TMZ email say?

According to TMZ’s report on the email they received, the sender said he was contacting the outlet because he didn’t trust law enforcement. “You don’t trust me and I don’t trust you,” the man allegedly wrote. He further claimed that the decision to double the prize to $100,000 was an attempt to “discredit me.”

TMZ said the sender reiterated his demands for cryptocurrency, specifically Bitcoin, in exchange for revealing the identity of the alleged kidnapper.

He wants the $100,000 FBI Now for the prize. He requested $50,000 in Bitcoin. He intends to receive an additional $50,000 in Bitcoin after disclosing this information. He said he would not release the first $50,000 until the kidnappers were caught.

When he received the first payment, he promised to give up “the names of the principal individuals.”

The email is the third such communication the outlet has received.
