At the direction of the President, the U.S. government has begun releasing long-secret documents related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), also known as Unidentified Flying Objects Donald Trump.
Trump said on “Truth Social” that he will direct Army Secretary Pete Hegers and other agencies to begin releasing government documents related to “alien and extraterrestrial life, UAPs and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).” “Any and all additional information related to these highly complex but extremely interesting and important events is important,” Trump said.
Thereafter, the Department of War, along with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and other agencies, began a massive effort to locate, review, and declassify UAP-related records. Officials say the effort involves millions of records collected over decades.
Newly released government files contain photos, videos and reports of unidentified objects seen by military and government personnel.
Some of these include:
The U.S. government said the documents released were “open cases,” meaning officials could not clearly explain what they observed. This may be due to missing data or incomplete information.
Authorities said the documents will be released in stages over the coming weeks. They also invite outside experts and the public to study the material.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said: “The Department of War has aligned with President Trump to achieve unprecedented transparency into our government’s understanding of unexplained anomalies. The documents hidden behind these classified documents have long fueled legitimate speculation, and it is time for the American people to see them for themselves. The release of the declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s sincere commitment to unprecedented transparency.”
The War Department said the goal is transparency and truthfulness. Officials said the public now has access to previously confidential records.
