Texas politicians slam Austin shooting targeting H-1B visa workers, ‘suspect was U.S. citizen’

Hindu American Foundation condemns Texas politicians for linking recent shootings to austin Immigrants and Skilled Worker Visas (H-1B), called the response “ridiculous political theater.”

“Texas politicians accuse H-1B The visa is austin shooting. The suspects are U.S. citizens who have long resided in the country and are not foreign workers with visas,” the Hindu American Foundation said.

“Using tragedy to attack skilled immigrants? This is not policy. This is ridiculous political theater. Please. Make it count,” it added.

Austin shooting suspect

The comments came in the wake of a mass shooting in downtown Austin. TexasNdiaga Diagne, 53, was killed by law enforcement after he opened fire outside a busy bar, killing two people and injuring 14 others.

According to CNN, Diagne is from Senegal and arrived in the United States on a tourist visa in 2000. After marrying a U.S. citizen in 2006, she obtained legal permanent residency and became a naturalized citizen in 2013.

A photo obtained by CNN shows the suspect wearing a hoodie that says “Property of Allah.” According to the media source, law enforcement later discovered that Diagne was wearing a T-shirt with an image of the Iranian flag.

Texas Republicans take aim at H-1B visa workers
