New Delhi: Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam suffered a scary moment during the PSL 2026 match against Lahore Qalandars when Ubaid Shah’s sharp bounce hit him on the helmet. The incident occurred early in the innings and Babar continued to bat despite being examined by a physio and undergoing a concussion test.

watch:Despite early scares and the loss of a wicket quickly, Babar and Kusal Mendis stabilized the innings. Mendis played aggressively, while Babar stabilized the game in a calm manner. Together they have forged 109 significant partnerships. Babar scored 43 runs before getting out, helping his team recover on a pitch that was favorable to the bowlers. At the end of the innings, they had posted 173/7 in 20 overs. This match was also special for Babar as he became the first player in PSL to reach 4000 runs, achieving this milestone during his innings. This puts him ahead of the rest of the best players in the league and adds another record to his name.Talking about the toss, Babar said: “The preparation remains the same. The break we got earlier, we practiced a lot in the sun.”He added, “Even though the pitch is the same as the one we played a few days ago, I feel like the conditions are slightly different. Hopefully we can play well.”Talking about the team’s bowling prowess, he said: “Spinners are always dominant here. Iftikhar’s experience with the ball helps. We are lucky to have a combination that can help us a lot in situations like this.”
