New Delhi: A court on Saturday rejected Nida Khan’s anticipatory bail plea. The prosecution of Nida Khan, the main accused in the alleged sexual harassment and forced religious conversion case at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik, Maharashtra, has stressed the need for her custodial interrogation. “The nature of the crime is serious. Nida Khan is one of the main accused and therefore her custodial interrogation is necessary. The court rejected her bail application,” PTI reported. According to the FIR, Khan advised female employees to “dress and behave in accordance with Islamic traditions.” The petitioner, who is absconding, sought pre-arrest bail on the ground of pregnancy. Police said searches were ongoing in different districts of Maharashtra for Khan. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Nashik police is probing nine cases of alleged sexual harassment of female employees by male colleagues in the Nashik unit of the company. The SIT arrested eight people, including a woman operations manager, after registering nine FIRs. TCS has long maintained a “zero tolerance policy” against harassment and intimidation of any kind.
