New Delhi: Chairman, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Vijay On Monday, he canceled a planned campaign event in Chennai, citing logistical constraints imposed by local authorities.Vijay is all set to contest from Villivakkam and T Nagar constituencies. While police had given permission to hold the events, the party claimed that the time allotted for travel between the two locations was insufficient, news agency ANI reported, citing party sources.Citing the restrictions, Vijay decided to cancel the day’s campaign, adding that TVK may approach the Election Commission over the matter. A formal statement from the party is currently awaited.tamil nadu Single-phase voting will be held on April 23, with counting scheduled for May 4.The main contest is expected to be between the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA), which includes the Congress, DMDK and VCK, and the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and PMK as allies.Actor-turned-politician Vijay, who is all set to make his debut with TVK, aims to position the party as the third force in the state.Earlier on Saturday, Vijay launched a blistering attack on existing alliances at a rally in Puducherry, calling the AINRC-BJP alliance “tired” and the DMK-Congress alliance “chaotic”.“There are two alliances in Puducherry… In Tamil Nadu, DMK-Congress is a messy alliance. Likewise, here too, it remains a messy alliance. Likewise, there is a Congress-BJP alliance. It is not a unified alliance. It is a tired alliance. Why has this alliance not granted statehood to Puducherry? If we come to power, we will try our best to ensure statehood,” Vijay said.
